Maddie and Adam's Salt River Engagement Session

I love it when recent transplants to Arizona want to show off the amazing natural landscape we have here to their family members back home. When I was a young kid, we moved from Minnesota to Arizona, and I didn't like the look of the desert for a long time. I was so used to green. That's all I knew. Since becoming an adult however, I realize more every day just how magical this desert is and all the beauty this state has to offer. But I digress. I had an amazing time with these former Washingtonians as we explored the Salt River area. They even laughed it off when some jerk in the river told them marriage was a trap. That seems pretty Arizona to me too. :)

Here are some of my favorite images from their Salt River engagement session.

Nicky and Demerae's Icehouse Wedding in Phoenix

Nicky and Demerae currently live in New York, but have friends and family all over the states. Arizona is the place they met when Nicky was a teacher and Dem was a swim coach at ASU. What a way to show it off to the out of towners. One of the most unique places you could get married in downtown Phoenix is definitely the Icehouse. I had wanted to photograph an Icehouse wedding for years and I've been lucky enough to shoot it twice this year already. Luckier still with cool people like these. Not only was this kickass wedding party the first all female one I've been priviliged to photograph, we got their epic mural photo, there were glow sticks everywhere, and food trucks. Food is the way into anyone's heart. Mine for sure.

Here are some of my favorite images from downtown Phoenix wedding at the Icehouse.

Mary and Sam's Phoenix Wedding

I'm learning that Phoenix weddings in the summer aren't bad when you have amazing people involved. Heat can't stop a couple who rock this hard. Mary and Sam (and wedding party) braved some high temps for their portraits out in the desert, but you wouldn't know it looking at the smiles these two had all day. In fact, these cool kids were laid back the whole way and just ready to celebrate their love with cherished family and friends around them.

I've really enjoyed getting to know these two. It doesn't hurt their case that Mary posts lots of cute puppy pictures...just sayin'.

Here are some of my favorite images from their Phoenix wedding. The ceremony was held at the gorgeous St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church
